What's Up in Dec '09

Began December with a busy mood. I was involved in volunteering work for Standard Chartered Marathon in 2 different areas. I held the role of Race Entry Pack Counter Crew Leader from 3rd to 5th Dec 09 @ Singapore Expo Hall 5 and the role of Broadcasting and Commercial on 6th Dec 09 @ the event of the Marathon, which is near Esplanade-behind S'pore Cricket Club.

I was in charged of a group consisting 40 (+/-) students. They were divided into 2 shifts -- One in the morning which started from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm while the other shift started from 1.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Andersons ice cream were given out to all volunteers at the end of their shift *Yum Yum* Each of us were paid an allowance too :)

As Volunteer Leaders, we would receive a daily allowance of $30 (my daily salary is a few times more than that! -- why did I make that comparison? Read on...)

My 1st shift crews are all undergraduates. There were about 5 guys and there had completed their NS. As all of them are from the same school, they don't really form grouping among themselves and have team work.

My 2nd shift crews are students from ITE. In the group of about 20, there are 3 chinese. This group formed groupings among themselves and lack of team work. Difficult to manage. (-_-") Even the management made that comment to us, group leaders, and told us to highlight to them if we have difficulty managing our crews.

Anyway, I was able to maintain a good working relationship with majority of them :) There was this SCSM dance and whenever they played the SCSM music, everyone is supposed to stop whatever they are doing and dance. *haha* It was fun.

There were media coverage over this event and I was on TV for 30s when they screened the volunteers doing the dance. *hahahaha*

It was a tiring 3 days! I have to report to Expo @ 7am and my duty will ends around 7pm. I don't really get to sit, unless anyone of the crew is away from the counter and I will take over from there. I didn't really get to eat because I have to let my crew to have their lunch before I could do so and by the time they finished their lunch, my 2nd shift crew has arrived and I have to take care of them. (-_-")

Now you'll understand why I made a comparison on the allowance :p *haha* However, overall, it's fun and experiencing and most importantly, a short break away from work, though it's tiring and alittle frustrating at times!

On 5th, after my duty, I went home and took a bath. Supposed to go for dinner with Beary but I was simply too tired. Hence, I rested at home while waiting for Beary to buy dinner home :)

After dinner and playing with FB, Beary sent me to Ritz Carlton for a briefing on my role for the actual day event. This is definitely different from the other role and for this, I worked directly under Stella, an SSC staff whom I got acquainted during AYG. She is like Cindy Yeo - appreciates me :)

Wow... Ritz Carlton was great!!! Even the Christmas tree looks extraordinary beautiful. I snapped it while waiting for Stella @ the main entrance :p

Stella brought me to her room for the brief. The deluxe room was cosy. The scenery was beautiful and the bathroom was super big too :) *hahaha* Very comfortable.

I have to spend some time looking out for this NB mascots to
ensure that the media did cover them

My role for this event is different from what I did during AYG '08. I had to liaise with the broadcasting and TV Host and make sure that they captured certain sponsors and brandings, as well as to ensure that we are in time for live and telecast interviews with certain VIPs. *Very Interesting* I followed the team around the event area that entire morning :)

I told myself I had to rest hard after those few days of hard work! *haha*

We're supposed to go Genting for a short break in mid of Dec but the hotels were fully reserved and left us with no choice but changed our plan and have our holiday in a little island called Singapore! ;p

Day 1:
I brought my mom and mavis to The Line @ Shangri-la for their sumptious buffet lunch. *Great*

After lunch, Beary came to pick us up at the hotel and we went shopping @ Vivo City -- That's where Mavis bought all her Christmas presents for everybody.

In the evening, we went to fetch my sis & yogi and went Lavender Food Court for dinner. *Home Sweet Home*

Day 2:
We had brunch @ Tiong Bahru Market. Their zhu zha Soup is delicious -- never disappoint me!

After makan, we went to the Singapore Science Centre and Body Worlds *Yikes* and watched a show in the Omni max Threatre -- to note we went Body Worlds because Mummy & Mavis wanted to. To me, that place is scary. We spent almost the whole day there!

Beary sent us back to Yishun and he head off to meet his colleagues for a christmas gathering. Mummy, Mavis & I had our dinner @ Yishun Food Court and shopped around North Point and its new extension :)

*Home Sweet Home*

Day 3:
We had breakfast @ Choa Chu kang, while waiting for our dental appointment. -- It has been many years since I last visited a dentist!

KTV session from 2-7pm @ K-box Marina Square!

After so many hours of singing, we went Food Republic @ Suntec for dinner, followed by doing some shopping @ Suntec.

*Home Sweet Home*

On eve of Christmas, Beary and I, after work, went to buy the remaining (which was still quite a lot) gifts for our family . *Phew* What a rush! and we also had to do some marketing for our Christmas dinner. It was supposed to be a "Chinese Christmas" and we're supposed to have Hot Pot. However, due to insufficient time, we switched to western cuisine - Steak.

We chop chop buy everything and spent hours in the kitchen to prepare the dinner. In fact, we have been cooking for the family quite frequently, over the weekends, these few months.

After dinner, we bathed and started wrapping the pressies and then GIFT EXCHANGE!!!

On Christmas, the DHW organised a Children Party and, again, I had to go and buy gifts on the day itself. -- I've got no time for christmas shopping this year! Hmm... what have I been doing before christmas??

After the kids' party, we joined Adam & gang for prawning -- my 1st prawning experience.

After prawning, we went over to Karen's pl for makan. The guys steamed the prawns and cooked instant noodles for us. Nice "breakfast".

The Care Bears had a gathering @ Oliver's pl the next day. It was a potluck session. We played games and makan. After some time, everybody got tired and we decided to call it a day. When we were exiting the carpark and decided to head home, XL suggested to go drinking. Then we went to the coffee shop near my pl and had 2 bottles of Carslberg.

While drinking, we decided to go for prata @ Jalan Kayu! so we sent Mavis home, put her to bed, then we head off for prata.

While we were having prata, we decided to do some marketing @ Chong Pang, send my mom to the bazaar @ Bukit Batok and send XL home. *hahaha* By the time we reached home and ready to go to bed, it was like 8am in the morning :) What a fulfilling day!

After Christmas, it was count down for 2010. We went ECP for countdown. There were free music (disco type) and we chatted, played games, enjoy wine & sparkling juices + titibs while waiting for 2010 to arrive.

After countdown, we went to the airport for supper and to enjoy the free aircon!!! *hahaha* *HOME SWEET HOME*

We also had a christmas lunch (Japanese-style Steamboat) with LC -- Free flow of wagyu beef!!!

27 Dec 09

Beary went home today. He had sleep over at my place since Wednesday night. Whenever he is going home without me, I feel so lonely and will tend to miss him. I can't bear to let him go. *I am so possessive!*

Christmas was fun. Our off days were filled up with programs :)

Thank you Beary! I hope we will celebrate all our christmas(s) together.

TODAY he said that he wanted to break off with me, using 2 words "forget it"

I sent an sms to his mobile. It was silent. He didn't switch his mobile to silent but why his sms didn't sound? I sent another msg again and this time round, he was looking at his phone. He knew I took his hp into the bathroom so he checked. I asked him why did he switch his phone to silent mode, he denied. and I saw him going into his tones and changed the SMS tone from "off" to his usual tone.

I confronted him. He turned around to say that I have zero trust in him. He said that he cannot be together with someone who had zero trust in him and checked on him in everything he do, therefore, FORGET IT.

Did he feel any pain when he say that? Did he realise how much pain it had inflict on me when he said that?

I don't know if he had said it out because he was angry or he really mean it.

It hurts. This is all I get for being with a guy who starts off with nothing till now.

Be it true or not, I must be prepared for the worst. I must be prepared that he will not stay with me all the way.

If I were to get out of this relationship, it wouldn't be easy for me to get into another one soon again --- I have 6 years of memory and it will all turn into hatred.

If the statement he made today is true, we should have a clean break. I know I will be very sad. I dunno how long I will indulge in my sorrow but I cannot show them my sorrow.

Lee Ke Qing have this song wre the lyrics goes -- when you decided to hold on to this hands, you must also be prepared that you will have to let go of this hands.

Updates for the month of Nov 09

As I am drafting this post, I realised that I don't have much recollection of what took place in Nov, except for my b'day and Kareen's big day!

Hmm... let's see... ...

November is always classify as lull period but it has been a busy month for me. I have so much work and o/s trips to handle. *Phew* and it is not over yet.

I missed the WSS staff dinner which was held on 6 Nov 09.

We went Ocean Butterfly to do the recording on our well wishes for JS & Kareen's wedding. Mavis did a good job and I think she can further develop her potential so that I can be a "xing" ma! *hahaha*

Our alumni meeting is back again!!! FYI, its still ongoing :p We're in the midst of organising the annual CNY reunion luncheon :)

I also accompanied Beary to the National Stadium to watch the soccer match betwen Singapore and Thailand. *Disappointing* The only good thing was our lions did not get zero goal in our home ground!

Thank you to Beary, my care bear group & DHW (less YL) for joining in and made the Nov b'day celebration a success ^_^ What a surprise!!! oh and not forgetting the "Hen" night and "Bachelor" night! ;)

The gals also meet up very frequently in the month of Nov 09 to help out in the preparation of Kareen's wedding. From shopping, to packing of wedding favours, to brainstorming of how to give the guys a good treat in the morning of their big day, etc etc. We ended up going home arnd 11+ on those days when we meet up but it was fun, though tiring on the next day.

Now that everything has been completed, something seems to be missing :)

Meet up with Jen, Sue and Alan for dinner @ Sakae Sushi on last Tues of the week to catch up on what's going on in life. *Thank you Jen for the dinner treat*

I bought a pink dress for the "Gate Crash". A niece piece and I can wear it for other events and outings :) Her luncheon theme was black, hence, not difficult -- I have plenty in my wardrobe :p

After their customary, we sent them, together with their barang barang, to the hotel and then we head home to take a nap because I wake up @ 4.30am in the morning (0_o) *Tired*

Later in the evening, we decided to buy food and have it in their bridal suite. We stayed til about 12+.

Woke up early in the morning again, washed up and went Snapz to set my hair and make up before heading down to the hotel. Luncheon has got its "air" and ambience. *wow* There were video of famous artists sending their well wishes to the Bride & Groom. We also get to enjoy the live performance of some local artists. *hahaha... wonderful* Food was okay, apparently from Tong Lok, but it didn't leave me with much impression -- probably because I was busy or I wasn't really hungry.

Oh ya... this one must blog. I was supposed to sit right at the back of the ball room. I kept joking about the fact that I super dislike having to be seated at the back or one corner of the ball room and that I will leave after the reception -- I got a 2nd row seat (after the VIP table) :p *hahaha* and I also kept "psycho-ing" LC to leave with me after the reception (of course, it was not going to take place).

Of course it is not because of what I had joked about and managed to get a front table but because our bride may need to call for us in the midst of the luncheon :)

After the lunch, everyone took pictures. The carebear gang took group photos. Everyone left happily. We went home to change and went out to have dinner with Adam and Karen @ MS.

I have to blog about this as well -- Beary & I spent $40 "fishing" nothing @ soft toy corner (if you know what I am talking about) while Karen "fish" an Elmo for $2! Lucky her but not for us. $2 for an elmo was COOL! *envy* It was addictive!
Think about it -- you could have gotten a better soft toy @ mini toon for $40!!!
*Shit* I am so stupid!!!

I have decided that Beary will BUY a soft toy, some cute character which is also available in that crafty machine, from mini toon and then carry it in my arms and walk pass over and over again that soft toy corner, showing off my soft toy! *humph*

Kareen & JS joined us for dinner @ Swensens as well. Supposed to catch a mid-night movie but we didn't do so in the end -- I can't remember why. (0.-)

Come to think of it, I didn't really do much in Nov 09. Besides having a few dinner dates with LC @ our usual place, I didn't go out with the DHW as well. XL did ask me to go Dragonfly with her on a few Fridays, but I have been too tired (-_-) and didn't have the mood so we keep postponing our outings.

Lastly, it's MY birthday!!! Thank you to my dearest Beary for all the lovely surprises and all my friends who had celebrated with me and the lovely gifts from all of you. Pictures tells a thousand words - therefore, I shall not elaborate more. Look out for my posting :)

27 Nov 09 - Trust

Is it him or is it her? I cannot understand why a female colleague of yours will want to message you in the late nights to ask what you are doing or qtns like do you wanna have supper together etc.

A gal who has a boyfriend has nothing better to do on a PH, on a weekend and no need to accompany boyfriend and her boyfriend is so generous to have her messaging her other male colleagues to ask silly qtns???

Why doesn't that happen to me? Perhaps, I should try to msg my guy friends for no reason as well.

I see that as one kinda flirt as well. I really don't know what I should do to STOP all these. I am like sitting on a roller coaster. At times, I enjoy the ride, at times I am fearful, at times i worried that I might fall off the roller coaster.

I'm upset. and he knows that i am upset but he is not doing anything.

He loves me? He loves me not?

I told him about my time frame for marriage today while we were preparing dinner. I am serious that if he is serious about settling down with me, we should do it by next year. He was quite reluctant initially and (agn) accusing me of pressuring him. *sighz* It's all excuses, isn't it?? His initially reaction makes me feel that he's really not serious about settling down with me. However, after a while, i touched about this topic again and he was like "okay". I dunno if he is really okay or he is just putting up a front.

Sighz...

Can that lady stop being too friendly with him????? Always make me feel upset because of her little actions. Yes, if he were to know how i feel, he will definitely think that i am stupid for wanting to think that way. he will think that i am crazy and i choose to make myself upset. but he doesnt really understand how i feel... ... He doesn't understand the feeling of being trapped in a roller coaster... ...

My heart really aches.

26 November 2009

Did I blog anything on this day a year ago?

I didn't want to browse through to find out cos I will tend to feel even more emotional if I do so.

If everything had been smooth and I hadn't taken the initiative to drop him an email, seeing that he was unhappy about tying the knot with me, and that if he had behaved like a man, things may have turn our differently and we may have tied the knot and today, we may be celebrating our 1st year wedding anniversary.

I wonder if he have any impression of it and if he remember anything special about this date :(

Nowadays when any of our common friends or my friends were to ask him about such thing, he would definitely reply "soon soon..." I really doubt this "soon soon..." though I also hoped that he will really keep to his words.

Everything should have a deadline and I am sure the deadline of 30-years old is more than sufficient... ...

Will I always remember this date? If I don't want to let go, I will never be happy. I know it clear.

I may have been too sensitive but I could feel that he is still not serious about settling down with me. I hope I am wrong. I happened to browse thru a conversation I kept between him and his china room mate, sue -- the one which sue expressed her interests in him. When Sue prompted him if he is sure to settle down with me and marry me, he replied "nobody knows what will happen in the future." This definitely gives sue the impression that he is still sourcing for one and I am definitely not suitable enuff for him :( How sad.

09 Nov 09

I'm feeling very unhappy today. This unhappiness occurred after my dinner with Beary & his granny. He accused me of not taking care of his granny and that I am behaving as if I dare not "touch" her. He was very unhappy with me and raised his voice at me after his granny got off the car.

Of course I cried and I kept quiet through the entire journey home. How much must I do so that I can fulfil his expectation? He didn't praise me for opening the door for his granny. He didn't thank me for serving his granny tea and all he could see was that I did not hold on to her when she was walking. He claimed his granny was behaving like a fragile old lady and why I left her walking on her own when he was not holding on to her. -_-"

All along, I doesn't hold on to her when she walk. I only hold on to her when she goes up and down the stairs. Why is there a sudden change in SOP?

On our way home last night, I was thinking about our relationship -- Should I cling on OR should I let go? What kinda man is Beary? Is he really keen settling down with me? What does he expect from me?

While we were at the saloon ytd, Louis asked if we have no plans to settle down because we will be in our 30s next year. I kept quiet. The silence was awkward. Beary replied "in a year or two".

I am determined that if I dun hear from him about settling down by 21 Nov 2010, I should really consider giving it up. What's the point of clinging on when there's no outcome? I would probably be happier on my own after the "injury" period on him.

A man, willing to let go of someone he claims he love, because he is worried of how others sees him --- is he worthy?

Has he changed or this is the real Johnson that I am seeing?

Or am I the problem? Am I the one who is pre-destinated to be lonely? hence, we are not working out well.

I am very upset. I feel like crying out loud and hard. I smiled, I laughed in front of my colleagues but I know I am not happy.

Does Beary know that I am unhappy?

Does Beary know why I am unhappy?

Does Beary know what I want? Do I know what Beary want? Human beings are selfish. They are only conscious of what they want! *Sighz*

He always claim that he place me above everything. I doubt otherwise.

Sometimes I feel so pathetic that I would consider if I should be back with Junhua. *haha* as if he also wants me! Good thing that YL will discourage me from doing it *Clever horses should never turn back to the previous patch of grass for food*

I guess if I really want to break off with Beary, it's gonna be a clean break this round. Not testing anymore water.

I wonder if he knows what I was thinking when we were on our way home ytd... ...

In the month of Oct 09... ...

I supposed it was a busy month for me in Oct. Here it goes... ...

The DHW has quite a few outings this month. CH & XL brought me to Dragonfly on the 1st friday of the month. 3 of us finished a bottle of Henessy, which I think is normal. But XL kept emphasing that we drank alot!

Wow... I saw William Scorpion performing, as well as Dee Hell Six! Didn't know that WS is performing there. COOL! The moment he started singing, everyone started screaming and behaving in a very "high" manner. *hahaha* Reminds me of the Shanghai nites and B1 days :) Anyway, that was Part I.

Thanks to the gentleman in white, we managed to get a picture of Six. Apparently he is a regular customer and know the band. When he knew that I was trying to capture a picture of him, he told me he will help me to call Six. Thereafter, he kept telling me when is appropriate to take pictures with Six and how I should approach Six to take pictures with us etc etc... ... To an extend that I find him irritating! -_-"
Singaporeans... mean, we scold; kind, we also grumble! :p

3 babes

At about 1+, we switched to UP and had 1/2 a bottle of Martel! Nic didn't keep his word!!! He didn't manage to keep the Blackie which he "fish" out from the machine because it has been almost 2 months! but he gave me a QQ instead :p *Luckily*

Nic & Judy

Beary came to pick me up after his movie session with his colleagues and home sweet home!

On Mid-Autumn Festival, Beary brought us to a vegetarian restaurant for dinner. It was superb! We loved the food and enjoyed every mouth of it! *Yum Yum* I told my family to bring me there on my b'day :) After eating those good vegetarian food, i realised that vegetarian is actually yummy!!! *hahaha* and I am almost craving for it everyday!

We were playing Sparks @ the corridor outside our flat.

After dinner, we went home, had mooncake and played whistling sparks with mavis. It was so loud that we decided to go to the playground at the ground level to play after lighted 5 stix. However, when we were at the playground, we decided to play only 2 packs and played the rest on other days cos it's simply too loud and we were worried that we might disturb the neighbours!

The care bears celebrated the October babies' b'day on 10 Oct 09. I'm so proud that the bbq was a success and within a budget of not more than $20/pax, though the food were still good!!! I managed to "get hold" of Uncle Justin on the day of the BBQ! *Whew* I almost gave up looking for him. and a big THANK YOU for the complimentary Blue Berry Cheese Cake *yum yum* -- I am damn bad, fancy asking the b'day boy to get his own cake :p

I visited Karen at Iluma on 3rd Thurs of the month, while waiting for YL & CH for a vegetarian meal and followed by a shopping spree. We spent 1hr+ in Dorothy Perkins trying outfits and of course we bought them :) Great discounts! 50%!!!! Women are after all women!!! *haha*

Next day, XL called me when she was about to leave the office and asked me out for dinner. I didn't have any appointment and was actually waiting for Beary to pick me, so I agreed. We went Railway Mall for Rocky's Pizza but to find out that it had closed down! Went into a chinese restaurant and wanted to settle for Fish soup in steamboat kind but left without ordering because Beary decided that we should go Arab Str instead. We waited rather long before the food was served. That place is always crowded because they are famous for their fish soup!!! After dinner, we went Up Entertainment again for a drink and left around 12+ to 1am.

Our family had dinner @ Jack's pl (AMK) on Deepavali. Lousy Food and Service! Mavis said we should complain to Jack! :p Yes, we spent so much money only to get lousy food and service from there? Beary & I have decided to draft an email to lodge a complaint but err... we haven't started drafting anything yet :p

Had dinner with LC @ Seoul Garden on one of the weekdays. The last time I had that was about a year ago :) The variety was so-so but the BBQ was something different because I have been having the traditional kinda steamboat in the recent years.

4th Thurs of the month, YL came to Gombak to fetch XL and I after work. Supposed to meet up with CH as well but her gals were fighting at home! -_-" Since she was not joining us, we didn't go Little India to buy Saree for our Deepavali Nite! Instead we went MS and hit Dorathy Perkins (again)!!! *Why am I buying clothes from others again??* -_-"

As YL was still on vegetarian diet, hence, we went for Rama Pasta again!!! XL tried it for the first time and enjoyed it too!!! *pictures were captured using YL's camera!*

I had an enjoyable weekend on the 4th week! Beary & I accompanied Kareen for wine tasting -- We tried a few different types and the sales person (or maybe the boss) kept "feeding" us with different types of wine. A very hospitality sales person. We also bought a bottle of red and white wine to celebrate XL's b'day later that evening.

Thereafter, we went Central for dinner @ Azumi. The ramen was kinda nice. After dinner, while waiting for XL, we walked around Clarke Quay and saw some people in Halloween costumes. In the end, XL couldn't make it to meet us (due to her long day at work) and she was in the west zone... :( She was quite apologetic and proposed to keep the wine til my b'day. *but i was quite disappointed actually*

Anyway, we decided to go Beary's pl to drink wine and play games. In the end, we drank more than what we have bought!!! *hahaha* We also ordered McDonald delivery as supper :)

Sunday is always supposed to be relaxing -- We had early lunch @ Tampines Foodcourt. We happened to know that there were some sales going on @ Bodyshop and I bought some stuff @ great discounts :) Went Expo because there were some fairs ongoing as well ;) Head home, rest and to go K-ing @ Downtown East! It's a cool pl. Perfect entertainment centre!

They happened to have an offer for dinner KTV -- 1 set of dinner and free flow of drinks + 4 hrs of singing @ only $20/pax!!! Isn't that cheap??? *hehehe*
*Home Sweet Home @ 11+*

On Monday, we had lunch @ the "all prawn" wanton noodles in yishun. We haven't patronise that place for a long time and i've decided not to dine there anymore unless they improve on their wanton! :p

After lunch, we went AMK Hub to catch a movie -- 500 Days of Summer. It wasn't exactly funny though it was supposed to be a comedy! :p

One particular part which I like about the movie was that the Director (was it?) or the author of the story insisted that this story is fiction and if it does sounds similar to anyone, it's purely co-incidence and this statement was especially made to a lady by the name "Jennifer". He says "especially you Jennifer, Bitch!" *LOL* I guess Jennifer was the lady who broke his heart huh!!!

After movie, we decided to go home and take a nap. We met up with Oliver and had dinner @ Pizza hut because I have got a b'day voucher from Pizza Hut.

We hired someone new to tend the shop and it was her first day on Tues, hence, I didn't go to work but went down to supervise her. *hahaha* After spending 4 hrs with her, I realised that mummy sure didn't know her dialect group! :p Anyway, quite blur. Don't think we gonna keep her for long.

After we were closed for the day, i went back to wait for mavis to come back from school and had lunch together. She's always happy when I don't go to work. Beary came home for dinner that night :)

Went back to work on Wed and had another shopping spree!!! even at the canteen, we can shop -_-" Spent $60 over dollars. *Spendrift* I bought an ACM Cushion and Decal for Beary! Hence, its my turn to look for a Doraemon Decal :)

Meet up for dinner with Kareen, together with Beary, @ MS. LC supposed to join us too but due to work commitment, she can't join us. We had sakae sushi buffet! It has been a long time since we last had buffet :p

On the last Friday of the month, we had Deepavali Nite @ the Mess. Of course I wore my Punjabi. :) I did a henna too! We also took a group photo together and have them printed out for all of us :)

We also had a large variety of indian food for dinner. Around 10+, we left the mess and took a cab down to Clarke Quay. We also saw non-indians don on sarees and punjabi suits in Clarke Quay - supposed there's some party going on with the indian theme :)

We scout around Clarke Quay and hoped to get into somewhere comfortable but found none. Probably that's Halloween week, all the pubs and disco pubs were filled with patrons and everyone were queuing to get into the premises and we're not familiar with the place. *wow* Clarke Quay sure was happening. Meanwhile, we were also waiting for YL to join us.

While waiting for YL, we found ourselves attracted to the pinky horns and CH bought one for me :) *Thank you!!* and we started taking pictures at the central stage meant for halloween performance :p

After the "photo taking session", we took a break at Whoppers Bar! How cool! It's a bar operated by burger king. I was too lazy to take any pictures but that place looks cosy and comfortable. A nice place to rest and relax while waiting for your friends to come :p

After YL arrived, she bought us to Attica II! My first visit -- extremely crowded and packed with people of all races :) and of course, we danced with our horns :p and got all the wrong warms crawling over -_-" *hahaha*

After watching Michael Jackson's movie, Beary was so keen to buy a hat and so I accompanied Beary to Bugis Str to buy one on the last day of Oct. We got it at quite a good price. Thereafter, we went back to take a nap so that we could last longer into the Halloween Nite!!!

After dinner, we went Clarke Quay (agn) and it was very crowded and happening. There were performances at the central square and Glenn Ong was the host -- I have no idea but Glenn Ong would always remind me of Michael Ma, though I know that they dun really resemble!

After hanging out in Clarke Quay, we meet up with Karen, Adam and Vincent Red Dot in Dempsey.

We shared a tower of Monster beer (Green in color) and ordered some finger food.

After the chit chatting and drinking, we decided to head down to Bedok for supper, followed by Zzz zzz... ...

Judy & her Monster drink!

In the eyes of mothers... ...

After some calculation, I realised that I had spent $60+ at the canteen during my 1-hr lunch!!! There was a bizaar in the canteen today. CC & I decided to go and take a look while we were on our way to pack our lunch.

In the past when there were such bizaar, I would usually go with CC and we don't usually spend so much. I bet she had spent more than I do :p Felt alittle guilty that I spent so much but then like what CC said, the stuff are much cheaper as compared to outside and we are not finishing the stuff in an instant... hence, it's worth spending :) *Does make me feel better*

Anyway, one of the expensive stuff I had bought was a surprise I had for my dearest Beary!!! *hehe* I was so excited when I saw that there was a booth selling soccer items and I was even more excited when I saw ACM miniature cushion key chains. Immediately, I went over to the booth *FYI - that was the 1st booth I visited!* and I bought even more ACM stuff. *hahaha* I almost wanted to buy all the items with ACM but I have to be rational huh :p

In the end, I settled for a ACM decal and a cushion :) *its time to start looking out for a Doraemon decal as well :p *yah beary?*

Okay, I haven't touch on my topic yet... ...
When we were looking browsing thru a booth selling chocolates, CC was looking at some gift boxes, which some contained mini packs of chocolate waffle and some were Tiramisu and sweets. She then told me that these are very good gifts for children (xiao hai zi). I agreed... In my mind, the category of children refers to mavis. Hence, I decided to buy a box for her as a gift to encourage her to work harder. CC also decided to buy one.

After that, she was looking at bottles of chocolates with assorted nuts etc and she was talking to the lady and said "no no, i dun want dark chocolate ones.. for children to eat (xiao hai zi). In my mind, I was thinking... ... who are the "xiao hai zi" she was refering to? Her neighbours' kids??? Hmm... ...

When we were on our way back to office, she was very excited with the amount of stuff she bought and shared with us about what she had bought and who she had bought. From the conversation, I realised that her "xiao hai zi" refers to her kids who are aged 24, 21 and 19 years old respectively -_-"

I gave some thought on it and decided that in the eyes of mothers, their children are always their "xiao hai zi". Most parents are like that. I should be cautious that I will not say "xiao hai zi" when mavis has grown up. *hahaha*

I always remember this particular incident:
When Mavis was 6 years old, we were still cautious about her using scissors and sharp objects. One day, she was asking me for a pair of scissors and said that she wanna cut some paper to do some art work (not for school).
I said "No, you are too young to use a scissors. Use your hands to tear it."
She asked me why.
I replied that she may cut accidentally herself and it will be very careful.
Se replied "but you gotta let me learn how to use a scissors because I will be going to Pri 1 next year. I will have to use the scissors when I go to school next year too, okay Mummy?"

This short conversation allow me to understand that "in the eyes of mothers, children are always young and like a baby" and "mothers are always protective of their children and worried that they may get hurt"

SURPRISE -- Mid Autumn Festival

On 2 Oct 09, one day before Autumn Festival, I received another pleasant surprise from my friend! *haha* So sweet! Surprises one day after another really makes my day feel great!!! This is the first time I received a "gift" for Mid Autumn and it's not moon cake :) *haha*

I should reciprocate and give a surprise as well :) Shall update again.

01 Oct 09 - Children's Day

Happy Children's Day!

I remember that Mavis didn't have to go to school because it's children's day. However, it didn't really sink into my mind that it was Children's day until CH sent us an email and greeted us "Happy Children's Day!" in the morning.

When was the last time I ever heard that? When was the last time someone greeted me with it? That was more than a decade ago! but that's nice of her to send that greeting :)

Later in the afternoon, I also sent a greeting to my dearest Princess :) and I also greeted Beary in the email I wrote to him :) - I think it's so sweet to receive such a greeting. *hehe*

I also decided to buy a little gift for my princess to surprise her. -- I bought a Hello Kitty box of sweets and wrote a little note for her.

Later in the afternoon, I received a pleasant surprise. KJ brought back an envelope, from MDO, for me.

It's a sweet gift :)

So sweet of my friend to send a little gift to me on Children's Day. That's such a sweet gesture and it definitely cheer me up. I know my princess will be happy to receive the little surprise I prepared for her as well :)

Happenings in September

*Hmm* Let me do a recall about what took place in Sep... ...

I attended Beary's MBA Graduation on 4th Sep 09, together with his granny and parents. We took a couple of photographs. *Dearest Beary - Congratulations for obtaining your Master's with good grades* I'm really amazed with beary's abilities in studies! *Kudos*

I had a medical appointment @ Raffles Hospital on 2nd week of Sep. Went Bugis Str to recee and did some shopping. Mavis wanted to look for Aunty Karen, so we made our way to Iluma after we were done with our shopping. Mavis bought a baby plant from Karen :) *so she actually went with an intention* I also bought a pair of bermudas each for Beary & bro because they were on sale!!! *WOmen*

The office had a farewell lunch for LTC Seet and welcome lunch for MAJ Tong. He had set off to UK for a year. I believe one year isn't too long but the chances of working with him again is rare. Having served him for a year, I know that he is a very good husband and superior. He's like an elder brother to me, very considerate and caring. I still remember when he first came, he fetch me to the hospital to visit SM and he quickly rushed back from meeting and hurried to fetch us to the hospital and he said "Let's get going, Judy is going to be famish." Though I wasn't hungry, it was true that I haven't gotten a bite since morning :) When we were in his car, he tuned his radio to 88.3 and 93.3; not because he listen to mandarin songs (he always tuned to classical)! When I volunteered for AYG, he supported me and granted me OFF w/o any questions asked. When I wanted to take leave, he told CC to give me OFF for no reasons. When I missed my classes and had to write a letter to justify, he supported w/o questioning me and even told me to let him know if there's a need to "fight" for me. When he knew that I wanted to leave, he supported my decision and encouraged me to do so. He even told my new superior, from the dept which I was supposed to go, to take good care of me... ... and when he knew that he could upgrade my post, he immediately put up supporting papers for submission and fought for my post to be upgraded so that he could continue to take care of me if I could stay on. However, he also added that even if I choose to leave, he will support my decision. *I was really very touched* I remember that he also gave me a BIG ang bao for new year!

Really hate that he had to go. *Sigh* Come to think of it, all the MAs has treated me well but he was the only one who made miracle happened for me, which was why I stayed on. *Thank you Sir*

Beary & I went for the Movies in the Park event @ Fort Canning Park. Watched Iron man for the first time and first 30mins of Transformer (Part II). The park was packed. We had a mini picnic while watching the movies. We bought potato chips, peanuts, KFC 2-pc Meal & Red Wine along to accompany us through the movies :) *Wonderful*

KFC forgot to pack my 3-pcs drumlets for me and I only discovered it when we reached Fort Canning Park and I was like... ... "What the .... ..."! After the event, I decided to draft an email to KFC HQ and told them about some of my unpleasant experiences with KFC and how disappointing I am with them. My feedback is to allow them to better improve themselves!!! They "investigated" my feedback and apologised to me on the phone and offered me some freebies, which I didn't collect them (because I complained not because I wanted their freebies). Anyway, after this incident, I have decided to observe KFC and submit my feedback whenever I discover something unpleasant! *hahaha*

On the same night, we celebrated Vincent's b'day @ Liang Court Party World. Everybody, except Kareen, sang and enjoyed themselves. After karaoke session, the group went 126 for dim sum before heading home!

I had two wedding invitations in Sep 09. On 21 Sep 09, Beary & I attended his Primary School friend's (Xixing) wedding dinner @ Grand Corpthorne Waterfront. The ambience were good but the food was so-so. I like their wedding gifts -- wedding couple mug and playing cards. This is the first time I saw everyone taking their wedding souvenirs home :)

On 25 Sep 09, Beary took me to watch F1. It was their 1st night rehearsing. It was more of a recee for him so that he could know which area has the best view as he also went for the qualifying rounds on Sat night. We had to sell away the final day tickets, but at a high price, because of Rachel's wedding.

Anyway, Beary bought M. Laren dry-fit tee for me and himself. The tee were cool!!! haha... I like it very much and it's orange in color. Striking!!! We wore it for F1!

Beary & Judy

On 26 Sep 09, we attended Rachel's customery wedding which lasted from 9-3pm. After the dinner, LC & Karen & I went shopping. While waiting for me at J8, I went for classic manicure. Thereafter, we went Far East to shop for dresses. In the end, I settled for a dress at Isetan Wisma. I already bought a dress earlier but found it not suitable for the dinner.

We had Teochew porridge @ our usual place and chat awhile before we decided to abandon the idea of "partying" and went home to rest.

The following day was the wedding dinner. Karen and I went Snapz to set our hair and make-up. The silly & stubborn & indecisive aunty who set my hair for me really irritates me and I almost wanted to draft a complain letter to Snapz. She realised that I was the VIP instead while she was almost done with my hair and said that she thot my friend brought me here. Regardless of who the VIP is, I think there should be a standard in their products!!! Humph! One more time, and I will definitely write!!! In the end, everyone had to accompany me to look for another pl to re-do my hair!!!

We reached home rather late after the dinner. Good thing that Beary was on leave the following day while I could leave office @ 11am. Beary picked me up from work, we had laska from Jie Shuang Jiao and meet up with LC & Oliver for steamboat dinner and catch up with some gossips :)

Updates in Aug 09

4 Aug 09, we had dinner with Beary's cousin and his family at their residence in Woodlands. This is my first time to his residence. The scenary was beautiful as almost every room faces the sea and the causeway. His wife had prepared a sumptous dinner for us *so sweet*

Did not start off well in the month of Aug. I was down with fever & asthma & flu on the last week of Jul and 1st week of Aug 09. Visited the doctor twice in 2 weeks. On my 2nd visit, doctor gave me 3 days of MC (i.e. 5-7 Aug 09). Doctor wanted me to rest well for fear that I might be down with H1N1 due to asthmatic background.

For the 1st time in my 9 years of service, I missed the National Day Observance Ceremony at work. Prior to my MC, CC discussed with me about the dress code for the ceremony and even asked me to wear my india costume. *hehe... wasted*

Anyway, Aiyun and I have agreed that we will wear our india costume on Racial Harmony Day & National Day in 2010 :) I thought of buying a few pieces of "normal" ones so that I can wear as and when I like it :p

On 2nd Friday of the week, I joined YL, CH & XL for dinner @ MS. YL wanted buffet because she was starving and we had steamboat. After dinner, we bought a bottle of red wine and some alcoholic drinks and went back to YL's place for MJ session while sipping on our red wine :)

On National Day itself, we went to watch the NDP 09 at the Floating Platform. This year's performance was very different as compared to previous and it was impressive. NDP 2010 would be held at Padang. Dunno if it would still be as good as it was at the Floating Platform.

After watching the Parade, Beary sent me to Golden Mile Complex to take a bus to Genting. I spent 3 days 2 nights in Genting (i.e. 9-12 Aug 09) and this is the first time I went to there without Beary's company. I actually felt alittle weird and I miss him very much during those 3 days :)

@ the cafe outside 1st World Hotel, awaiting check-in & enjoying the weather :)

On the 3rd Sat in Aug, Beary brought me to his maternal granny's b'day dinner @ a restaurant in the East. After the dinner, we joined the carebear group @ the Tong's house to celebrate b'days for the Aug babies'. I was amazed with myself! I bought 3 presents from different shop in 1 hr! We bought a hamper for Beary's granny, a gift set from Body Shop for XS & a polo tee for Andy! :) Thank you to the Tong's family for the wonderful preparation and we all had a good time. Oh oh... not forgetting baby claudel was there too and she was hyper active to manage!

The B'day Boy & Gal

Baby Claudia

I also sat for the last 2 papers for my DHRM in the mid of Aug. One of the paper was sooooooo difficult and I have ZERO confidence about passing it -_-" Still, I am crossing my fingers and hope that I will pass and go thru the graduation soon!

In the month of Aug, I have Johnny Junior Tan, few months old, to officially join us in our family.

I gave him that name because he resembles alot like Johnny and behaves exactly like him as well. Damn mischievious and can really pissed me off at times. Just like Johnny, he tried to hide the cane I used to whack him on several occasions. God knows he may be the recarnation of Johnny :) *hehe*

Oh in the month of Aug, YL asked me to accompany her to Ochard to source for suitable tea-dress or night gown. She had to dress up to attend the National Day Appreciation & Award Ceremony.

It has been a long time since I last shop in Orchard. We went Tangs but couldn't find anything suitable. Daniel Yam is lousy for its service standard and I am going to repeat it whenever the opportunity comes! Before YL even finish her question, the sales gal snapped her off with a plain reply "Don't have your size!". Freaking rude! This is not the first time I had bad experience with Daniel YAM! and YES... their service is damn damn damn lousy!!!!!!!!

We managed to find a black halter neck gown in a boutique at Isetan Wisma and it fit her perfectly!!! Like a Princess. Guess the price of the gown?? $600!!! We decided that if we really couldn't find anything nice and suitable, we should settle for that!!! *haha*

We also tried Paragon and tried on a few dresses but nothing beats the $600 halter neck gown! Hmm... ... ;p

On the 4th Friday of Aug, XL invited me to her farewell dinner at Prima Tower (the revolving restaurant). We had a 8-course dinner. The food was so-so but the ambience was good. Anyway, I have heard numerous reviews that the Dim Sum is good. Should try it one of these days.

After the dinner, they brought me to St James Power House to party! That makes it my 3rd visit to St James. These people really like to party. They danced from 10pm till 4am (non-stop!). I didn't have such good energy like them. *haha* After 4am, we went over to Dragonfly and hang out there til 5am before we head home.

Beary picked me up at 5+ and reached home around 6am then I bathed and took a nap and woke up at 8+ to prepare for the picnic with the Whitleyans at Sentosa! *Yawnz* Though I didn't have enough rest but I was still ready for the fun!!! We took many pictures and had an enjoyable time at Sentosa.

Later in the evening, I was invited to my boss' house (for the 1st time) for a drink to celebrate that he was conferred with the National Day Medal by the President. The rest of the group went Manhattan Fish Market for dinner while waiting for me.

Many guests were busy mingling among themselves when we reached there. LTC Seet offered me a glass of red wine and told me that it was good *yum yum* It was sweet! I didn't notice what brand it was, but it was definitely good. Shortly after, Mrs Kuek took us to tour around their house and everyone was like "wow". Words cannot be used to describe how their house is like! Hmm... the only word I could use is "Open" & "Big"! *haha*

SM whispered to me that if he had studied harder when he was young and he could have afford such a big house now! *haha* If everybody had "known" power, we would strike millions from Toto long ago! :p

Met LTC Clifford and asked me some questions about an o/s trip in Oct. I replied to him the day before but I cannot recalled my answers sent to him at all. Tried hard thinking and after 1.5 hrs at boss' place, I still cannot recall :( *Oops* That's so lousy of me!

After hanging out at his house for nearly 2 hrs, we made a move and I quickly went back to J8 to meet up with the rest and we head off to AMK Neebo Cafe for TABOO until 12am!!! It was really a day filled with activities. To think that I only slept for 2 hrs in 2 days :p

On the last Sunday in Aug, I had a table for Flea market @ Nee Soon East CC. Sales was not exactly good but at least better as compared to the last time when we employed someone there. The lady had ZERO sales then. I sold some apparels and most importantly, I did free publicity for SY Apparels! ;)

On 31 Aug 09, I took leave and participated in a fair at Aljunied. Earnings was great! I was very happy with the results. This experience left me pondering for other plans in life.
