29 Dec 08

The month of December seems like a gathering month for me. I had many oppuntunities to meet up with friends whom I have not seen or heard from for ages. Let me do a recap:

- I meet up with Steve & Lee Ling

- I attended Edmund's wedding and met Darren & Gerald.

- I attended Choon How's wedding and met up with almost the whole ex-PCDians! *Wow*

- I visited Ms Yeo on Christmas

I had a gathering with the Care bears

Due to current workload, preparation for my new flat & weeks spent scouting for Christmas gifts, December's schedule have been rather packed! I have got no time to do many other stuff like making an appointment to do a Hair Treatment which I needed very badly; no time to book a schedule for Mani/Pedi; etc etc. There are friends who have been asking me for dinner but my schedule just couldn't fit them in :(

I made an effort to meet up a friend for dinner last night. It has been more than a year ago since we had a good chat. Distance indeed have drift us apart but I am really happy and appreciates that she has been asking me to arrange time for dinner with her. I was very paisei and had promised to make time to for her after she sent me an SMS last week. Firstly, I kept calling her name wrongly and when I msg her, it was for other purposes – not to ask her out. 2ndly, she said “I thot you wanted to say “llooks like we gotta meet up soon” but ... ... :( -- my actually msg was “looks like we've got to look arnd agn”

Therefore, we meet up for dinner. We did some catching up and she shared with me about her religion and in almost every 5 sentences she said, at least 3 sentences mentioned about her religion. *haha* I am happy that she has found a religion that she has faith in. She also told me that she has changed a lot ever since she joined her religion. She quit smoking and had mellow down on her temper, which is a good thing.

At the same time, I could also feel that she was trying to introduce her religion to me :)

Anyway, I have some thoughts after my conversation with her... ...

  1. She highlighted that she doesn't understand why people get so tense when they are invited to church. (Good question!)

  2. She was previously a Buddhist/Taoist and she couldn't understand why there are so many different statues to worship? In Christianity, there is only one god and that is Jesus Christ. Isn't it clearer? The rest of the god were created by men! (This doesn't sound wrong. I have heard stories of some deities like Ma Zhu, she was previously a human yah? Guan Yu was previously a soldier and after he was killed, people worship him for some reason.) In fact, there are many of such stories.

  3. She also highlighted that people pay too much attention to Christian. According to her, there are people who made comments such as “Why is this Christian allowed to smoke and drink?”, “Why is this christian behaving like this or like that? etc etc... ... She questioned why people doesn't query about how a buddhist behave? When a buddhist failed to carry himself appropriately, people would not make remarks such as “why this buddhist is behaving like that?”. Instead, people will comment “why is this person behaving like that?”

Anyway, she left me with some thoughts after our meeting... ...

  1. She highlighted that she doesn't understand why people get so tense when they are invited to church. (Good question! Personally, I am reluctant to go into a church because I feel that I am not ready for the religion and the people there are very pushy. Just like when you go for some trial services and they will keep talking you into joining them. If you tell them you need time to consider, they will press you for an answer and wanna know your doubts.)

  2. She was previously a Buddhist/Taoist but while she was in the midst of switching her religion, she began to question why there are so many different statues to worship in Buddhism? In Christianity, there is only one god and that is Jesus Christ. Isn't it clearer? The rest of the god were created by men! (This doesn't sound wrong. In fact, I have not heard about people commenting about why are Christian like this and like that. Personally, I thought she feel that way because she is very conscious about how people think of her religion.)

  4. She commented that everyone only criticise about Christian. No one reject the other religion because the demon will not destroy their own kind. (hmm... I respect the other religions and I trust that others should do so too.)

Jingle Bells... ...

Unlike previous years, this christmas was alittle different to me. It was some weird feeling which I can't describe.

It was raining Cats & Dogs in the morning. As usual, John sent me to work but I only reached office @ 9.15am (it's like 1h 15 mins late!!!), which means John reached office even later than me!!! We were stucked in the traffic along Mandai Road because some trees had fallen down and landed on the 3 lanes. None of the cars were able to move. Some drivers who didn't listen to Class 95 had no idea what caused the congestion. Hence, they got off their car with their umbrellas and made their way to the front to find out what happened. I definitely wouldn't get my butt off the car in such weather!

In fact, many people were late (not that they were stuck @ Mandai). Practically all the expressways have congestion. What's new? It was raining!!!

I am so tempted to take leave and just head home to sleep. Anyway, it was already so late... ... and I am so paisei to arrive late for work :(

MA came back from the medical centre shortly after I reached. He have had fever for many days and doesn't seems to recover even though he had seen the doctor and taken medication – Doctor from hospital said that he was suspected of Dengue! Guess he was still feeling unwell when he came to work so he made an appt to see the MO and was given 1-day MC.

I've served 3 MAs and he is the 1st one who goes on MC when boss is around. *heh* Anyway, boss stayed til about 3pm before going home. I bet he has forgotten that all employees are entitled to work for 4 hrs on Christmas Eve!!!

I went off around 12.30pm and took a ride from Hsi Lyiang to Ms Yeo's house. It has been almost 2 years since I last meet up with her. I have always wanted to pay her a visit during Mooncake festival but never had the time to do so. I was determined to visit her this Christmas and I did it! I bought some gifts for her and her family. We had a chat but I hope we could still chat longer. I have got so much to tell her and I still needed lotsa her advice. She has watched me entered into this society at the age of 19 and seeing me grew up till 28! When she recalled, she also feel that it has been many years and I have definitely changed a lot. She also commented that I have become prettier and I dress better :) Good to hear that. Recently at Choon How's wedding, Sue also complimented that I have become prettier. Why did they only realise now?? *haha.. shameless me* Before I left, we gave me a hug.

I still remember that the first time she gave me a hug was on our last working day and the feeling wasn't good. Saddness crept into me. The 2nd time when she gave me a hug before I took my leave, I was alittle relief but alittle sad at the same time too.

No one was around when I reached home. I began to wrap the remaining pressies and start preparing dinner when everyone came home. There were many more pressies this year for everyone :) I thank Buddha that life is slowly improving for us :)

Johnson helped to prepare the soup of the day while I re-heat the Smoked Chicken, Ham & Saugages. Dinner was good but it could be merrier if we had everyone joining us. Yogi had to return to Ipoh as his brother was getting married on that Sat. My brother had to meet his friends for Christmas dinner.

After dinner, it was Santa's time! Santa is supposed to give out pressies to everyone at home :) Mavis bought me a Piglet. *Hehe* I had actually pestered her to buy me one since my b'day in Nov this year! I love the Piglet very much because it is from my lovely Princess!!!

Little Joy had a pressie from us too. I believed she loves her new toy very much too :)

After Santa's time, each of us had a Magnum Ice Cream! *Yum Yum* We began to snack, drank beer (while Johnson had his Raspberry Volka *Yucks* and Mavis sipped on her F&N Grape) and watched TV.

Lastly, Thank you Santa Casper for taking the trouble to purposely make a trip over to my place on Christmas eve night to distribute pressies to us!!! :)

22 Dec 08 -- Blurry Day

Not that anyone is particularly blur on this day but everything seems so blurry to me :(

Give you a chance to be a smart guy -- Guess why it is so???

I left home w/o my spectacles and only realised it when Mavis asked "eh.. mummy, where is your glasses??"

*DUH* I forgotten my spectacles!!! How could I leave my glasses at home and not realising it until someone highlighted it to me???

Anyway, the day still goes on... ... We meet up with Derrick and I bet he must be thinking that I have my contacts on! However, shouldn't he also noticed that I need to really look closely at most of the stuff he has highlighted to me? (0_0)

Grace came and picked us up and went to look for lightings. Shortly after I got onto the car, Grace was so excited and asked "CONTACTS??"

"NOPE! I left my glasses at home!" I ever told her I wanted to try on to contacts but never had the courage to do so and I guess she probably thought I finally tried contacts.

At the lighting shop, the lightings on the ceilings were not that difficult to see as they were neither tiny nor small BUT when I was asking about the price, which was actually nicely labelled (hmm.. about font size 80 on Word) at the corner left of the lightings, the shop owner, Ellen, replied "It's indicated at the corner" (-_-") I didn't say a word and tried to make out what the fuck was written there. Grace told me the price and told Ellen with a grin "Judy forgot her glasses today!"

After everything, I took a cab to my bf's place. The Taxi Uncle wasn't exactly clear about the location, hence, I have to strain my eyes to look out and tell him the directions (0_0")

Afternoon sun was sooooo glaring and I only noticed it w/o my glasses!!! *Headache & Nauseas* My bf then took me to Causeway Point for Burger King and to do more christmas shopping!!!

W/o glassess, shopping becomes a chore! Everything seems so blurry and if I tried to focus too much, I will have headache and my eyes gets tired! TMD!!!

What a blurrrrrrrrry Day!!!

My Lunch Box!

I have been packing lunch to work almost everyday since I returned to work in late Nov. Hehe... ... I'm only taking a picture of my lunch box today because it has my fav Muar OTAK!!!

After a late feast @ Choon How's wedding last nite, I should only have so little for lunch :D

In any case if you are wondering... ... it's my mom who wake up very early in the morning to prepare my lunch box for me :) *Thank you mommy! (though you can be very irritating @ times!!!)

16 Dec 08 -- Exciting Day

I attended Choon How's wedding @ Raffles Swissotel today! 2 tables were filled with people who used to be from PAFF! How could I not be excited???

I left office @ about 1745 hrs today, which is considerably early though my knock off time should be 1730 hrs -- none of my colleagues had left yet! I meet up with Wan Hua @ South Entrance and took a cab down to Raffles City (though my darling had offered to send me to the hotel -- luckily he got the heart wor!)

Upon reaching, WH accompanied me to buy some gifts from MPH while we were waiting for Jen. Shortly after Jen arrived, we made our way to the ball room and it was about 7pm! *haha* We had actually arrived on time because the cocktail session starts @ 7pm.

The crowd started coming in shortly. The PAFFians were arriving one after another too! All the MROs & MRAs were invited. Mdm Ngoh was there too. Oh, Malcolm and Carin were there too :D All of us were busy chatting and catching up with each other. It seems more like a gathering for us :)

The solemnisation started @ 8.30pm -- an hr late :) but I thought Teachers should be punctual ;p Anyway, they had approx 48 tables, which is approx 480 guests! Wow... isn't that many!!

Choon How was very happy too and it is my first time seeing him in his contacts! Hmm... I just realised that I have sort of know him for 8 years!!

As Choon How & his wife graduated from Beijing University (they are specialised in Mandarin!!), the solemisation were in Mandarin while translation were showed on the PPS. It was a serious yet romantic moment. Besides exchanging their wedding vows, they also had to exchange a small paragraph of their loving vows!

The MCs for the wedding were damn professional (of course, they must be teachers!). They talked as if they were the MCs at a Speech Day in school!

As I have expected, during the "Yam Seng" part, besides the people on stage using the mike to say "Yam Seng", none of them at the floor had joined in! *Hehe* Teachers are educated people and couldn't stand noise!! Of course, they wouldn't join in yeah? :D

Besides focusing on the couple, people from the Pang Clan (the Groom's surname) were invited on to the stage to give a short speech and in 2 languages (one after another!) about their Pang Clan and etc etc (which we didn't really pay attention to)! Annoucement was also made that the Groom's dad had actually donated $2,255 (why not $2288??) from the Ang Bao collected to the Pang Clan association. Hmm... for a moment, I was wondered if I had been to a business associate dinner, a charity dinner or a wedding dinner??

WH is a vegetarian so Choon How has specially ordered vegetarian meals for her and some of her dishes were damn interesting (though I have no idea how delicious but ours definitely wasn't that good)!

Anyway, the dinner ended around 11.30pm and my bf came to pick me up and sent Sue and WH home as well. *Home Sweet Home*

WH's 1st dish -- The Cold Plate Combination

This surely look nice to me :)

The 2 balls are fried Potato + Sesame Walnuts

We couldn't understand what's the different between her desserts from ours? (-_-")

Our table has got 3 absentees while one needed to leave earlier

Sue is supposed to upload this picture onto her Facebook :)

13 Dec 08 -- Happening Day (Rainy)

I was hooked on to the exciting motive Evil Care Bear has in The SIMS 2 in my lappy and Elmo's career in Virtual Tennis on the PSP last night till 4+ before I turned in to bed. Slept for less than 2 hrs and we got to wake up and sent my mom and mavis to the tour group pick up point (Yes, they were going for a short trip in M'sia!). We reached home about 7am and continued to laze in bed. I began playing Virtual Tennis agn while my bf was persuading me to take a walk in the park and see those Uncles & Aunties do their morning exercises and to go for breakfast. However, when I finally decided to stop playing, he had dozed off. *Haha*

After playing for a while, I dozed off and only woke up @ 1100 hrs and rushed to wash up *Shit!! we've got an appt @ 12pm!!!*

My bf & I forsaked breakfast and made it in time for our Trial Shoot! We had a fun time during the shoot and didn't even feel a little bit of hunger!! *hehe*

First time I had my hair curled and I thought that it looked damn mature looking weird but then at least it's a totally different kinda image! :D

We only left the studio @ 4+ and went over to my new house -- supposed to collect a TV but also to show my bf how big my flat is :) Had "lunch" @ the coffee shop @ about 5 plus and head home to wash up and prepared for ANDY LAU's Wonderful World Tour Concert!!!

I was really excited and looking forward to this day! It's my 2nd time seeing Andy Lau in person and heard him singing live and talking to all of us in live and I finally got to see his "kids". Wow... ... It's something which I would want to remember for as long as my memory allows :D *I must really thank Johnson for bringing me there! Thank you Johnson!*

After the concert, we went for "dinner" with Oliver @ Lavender and Home Sweet Home... ...

12 Dec 08 -- A "Relaxable" Day

Everyone seems to be on leave or going for short holidays lately. It's the year end mood and I wanna sink into it as well; therefore, I have decided to take my OFF today!!!

My colleague left for Genting today. I sponsored my mom and mavis to Kluang for this weekend. Oliver just came back from Malacca and will be going to Phuket next weekend. *Everyone is going for a holiday* In one of Oliver's blog regarding his weekend trip to Malacca, I commented that I wanna go for a short trip too. *Johnson ignored my reply* so I am still hanging around on the little dot on the globe! :(

SINCE i didn't get to go for a short trip, I wanna go to a faraway place that is available on this little dot! After pestering my bf for weeks, he finally brought me to Jurong Point today!!! *hehehe*

I woke up @ 8+ and accompanied my bf to purchase his Textbook so that he can prepare for his exam which is scheduled next Tues (Hmm... why Clever People can attend lessons w/o textbook and only buying it a 4 days before the exam?)

Upon reaching Jurong Pt, we head to Coffee Bean for breakfast! What a nice way to start our day -- Sitting by the window, sipping my orange juice, chit chating with my darling and enjoying my breakfast while watching working adults like me rushing to work... ... *hehehe* Evil Care Bear in action agn!

Actually, my bf is not keen in bringing me to Jurong Point. He has only been there twice after living in this earth for almost 3 decades and he feels that Jurong Point is a lousy place! I kept telling him that Jurong Pt is a shopping centre similar to Suntec & Vivocity and most importantly, it has everything it should have in a shopping centre because it is built to cater for residents living in the far end of west area -- but he didn't believe me *HUMPH*

After breakfast, we went to shop around while waiting for SISTIC to start operations (and yes, they have SISTIC in Jurong Pt!). I bought some christmas gifts @ Disney Shop. Everything is just so pretty and adorable.

Oh ya... so exciting! Collected our tickets for ANDY LAU's WORLD TOUR CONCERT 2008! I am so damn fucking excited!!! and I will be so excited that I can't sleep tonight!!!

We also catch a movie - Four Christmases. Nice show! There were only 8 of us in a big cinema :D

After the movie, we went to do some banking and continued with our shopping. My sweet bf bought me an anklet and I love it so much!

We also spent about 1 hr plus in a shop purchasing gifts for both of us! The service of the sales gal was good and in the end, we bought something very pretty -- shall only blog about it after Christmas :D

Oh god... we were happily shopping and enjoying each other's company til we forgot to take our lunch and it was already 4+ when we realised it :p

We went to the Japanese Street to buy some Salmon (Belly) Sashimi and Chicken Balls Tori and Asparagus with Bacon Tori. *Yummy*

Thereafter, Oliver called and told us to pick him up @ Upper Thomson Road and then we head off for Laksa Steamboat. *Yummy* We haven't had it for a long long time.

After dinner, we went to Neebo Cafe for ice-cream, drinks and played Taboo! Hehe.. So much fun and laughter.

Home Sweet Home

10 Dec 08 -- Happy Day

It's a happy day because boss will be on o/s leave from tml onwards -- and I can concentrate on my un-finish work and complete them asap.

It's the time of the year agn -- CNY Reception!! I'm happy to announce that I have finished compiling my 700+ invitation for boss' vetting and once cleared, I will start sending out the invites :) *isn't that the most tedious part* (-_-") But I like events!! should have studied corp comms huh :p

It's a happy day because it's the annual gathering session for the MFAs agn and I always look forward to it because they are my good friends (or at least I treat them as mine)!! I have always been thankful that this bunch of friends were there to accompany me thru the years in PAFF.

Anyway, we just realised that our gathering is always scheduled at the end of the year (no idea why it is so too!) It was a fun night and we just keep laughing and laughing... ... Our happy days would always be remembered during our gatherings. Anyway, we didn't take any pictures because Lee Ling had her braces on -- but we shall take it when her braces has been removed :D

Anyway, we have been meeting for 3 consecutive years and I really appreciate their efforts in organising and meeting up with the group -- though there were only 3 (i.e. Steve, Lee Ling & I) of us this time round :) Jerry is still in Texas (where all the cow boys are) :p Rafael is in HK for a holiday while Alfred is in Aus (visiting David -- another one of us). Hmm.. I think we forgotten about Chris and Terrence (heh.. never mind, we will count them in during the next meeting -- Nov/Dec 09)

Talking about Chris -- I have seen him twice recently during my MC period -- probably because he has moved to Yishun -- but I could feel the distance (or probably because it was always in a rush when we met). Anyway, Chris is one whom I used to confide :) Before his ORD, he gave me a little clown (it's one of the figurine collectibles he had) as souvenir and wants me to remember to be happy whenever I see the clown. I placed the figurine in front of my desk :)

02 Dec 08 (Thursday) -- Rainy

I remembered drafting a post on the a/m last week but somehow it was not captured in Multiply. Anyway, I shall re-post my entry agn... ...

I stayed up till quite late the night before to prepare for my exam which is scheduled today! I didn't study much this semester and I dun think I am gonna make it for this module but then on the other hand, I feel that it is a lot more on common knowledge and therefore, I should be able to apply and K.O. the exam paper! :p

I woke up @ 9 plus and continued with the revision – hoping to remember as much as possible. Heh... If only I could remember the notes thru “burn and drink”!

Meanwhile, my mommy was preparing lunch for me – my fav Tom Yam Soup! Had a quick lunch and set off for school.

The MRT was crowded though it was a weekday. There were many people who were like me -- “k-ing their notes” as if they were also doing some last minute revision. When the train reached Tanjong Pagar, we were all told to alight (for God knows why – it happened exactly a week ago when I was on my way to sch to sit for another paper). The staff (a young lady) walked in and alerted passengers to alight and wait for the next train. When the staff lightly patted on the thigh of this particular guy to wake him up from his nap, he smiled at her. As the staff continued walking thru to the other cabins, this guy continued to smile sweety, looking at the back of the staff and slowly made his way out to the platform. While we were waiting for the next train to arrive, he was still smiling to himself. *Strange* :p After a while, he realised that I was staring at him for a long time, he tried to stop smiling and quietly made his way out of my sight! *hehehe*

After exam, I had a plate of Mee Siam from Toast Box!

I was kinda hooked onto the mee siam but it's considerably expensive but then agn.. everything from that place is ex!!

I went home to change and prepared to go out again. *heh* I head off to Mandarin Marina to attend Edmund's wedding. Edmund also invited Alfred, Gerald, Jen & Johnson. Besides me and Gerald, the rest could not make it. Only 7 of pax filled the table and before the dinner ended, the table only left with Gerald and I!

The dinner only commenced @ 9pm and the hotel were rushing thru the whole ceremony.

We didn't really get a chance to have a talk with the Groom but from his Thank You speech :) we are sure that he hasn't changed abit :p Anyway, I sincerely wish that they have a blissful marriage :)

I was glad that an opportunity was given to meet up with Gerald again (the last time we had a dinner together was Feb 08) & we had a good chat!

My bf came to pick me up after he has attended to his stuff and also to congratulate the couple.

Home Sweet Home!!

27 Nov 08 -- My 3th day @ work

Look at my desk... ... Definitely alot more messy as compared to my 1st day back to work!

Plenty of surprises since my first day back to work. Keep making changes at the very last minute and changes just keep popping up every now and then...

The mood to get down to work is coming back to me. I am a OL!!! *hehe* OL sounds good huh... ... Most importantly, I've got KJ to help me. That's a good thing and he certainly help me out alot!

Stories of 坏女人

The DJ of FM 93.3 was asking people to call in and share their stories of "bad women" and to win 2 tickets for a movie titled 坏女人 or something lidat lah.

I ponder about it for alittle while. What is their definition of 坏女人? Do I have any stories to share (not that I am interested in winning that tickets but I just wanna call in and have my voice on air mah!)

Some called to share stories of their female colleagues -- as in how bad they could to sabo their fellow colleagues or how pretentious these 坏女人 could appear in front of their fellow colleagues. -- Such stories I have too!!! However, to me, these are not considered as Devil Woman!

I heard one caller sharing a story of her friend -- The 坏女人 is a Mistress of her friend's hubby and this so called 坏女人 has a husband as well. -- Such stories I have too.

I tried calling in and after a few tries, I managed to get through but I hung up because I have got no confident to tell the story clearly on air! (what's the pt of saying something when people failed to understand!) Therefore, I have decided to share it on my blogs.

As I was trying to get through the line, I was trying hard to decide which story should I share and in the end I decided to choose this... ...

This so-called 坏女人, a fat and old aunty, is a "childhood" friend (who knows how true it is) of B's dad. B got to know her during their house warming and thereafter, the 坏女人 would always come to their place for dinner more than once a week, on the context that she gives tuition lessons around the neigbourhood. 坏女人 appeared to be on good terms with B's mom and always shared stories with her.

Initially, 坏女人 would come around noon time and stayed till late night but after a few visits, 坏女人 started to sleep over. At then, 坏女人 will sleep in the living room.

坏女人 also tried to make small conversation with B and siblings and told them old old stories of herself and their dad when they were young. 坏女人 also started to use the kitchen and cook meals for the family, which B disliked very much! Shortly after, B saw 坏女人 started sleeping on the same bed with B's dad! Obviously they have an affair!!

Friends were also aware that 坏女人 & B's dad were having an affair. However, the shameless couple loudly lied to everyone that B's mom were in her last stage of cancer, with less than 3 months to survive... ...

What's yours?

Back to work -- 24 Nov 08

I'm finally back to work today after a month of rest! No any sense of excitment at all! The only good thing -- Johnson sent me to work.
Oh another good news -- I am on leave tomorrow cos I am sitting for my exam!

Everyone in the office appears happy. Everyone commented that I slimmed down quite abit (but I couldn't feel it lei)! However, I know I have lost quite abit of weight in that 1 month but I just couldn't see which part of fats has disappeared!

Anyway, look at my desk! There are tons of work for me to clear. These are just on reimbursement and payments which I need to work on. *haha*

My table is not considered as messy because it would be more messy when I have o/s trips to handle!!!

We are entering Dec and yet there are still a few o/s trips coming up. Good thing that KJ is assisting me with the trips so that I can focus on the claims and payment -- otherwise "Loan sharks" will be running to us liao! My poor MA also "bankrupt" liao. All his personal credit cards have been burst for our official usage. My current focus is to assist him to get back all his monies as soon as possible :p

21 Nov 08

Today is my b'day. It is also the date which I have to go to ROM to verify my solemnisation documents. Appointment was scheduled @ 9am today but I didn't make the trip down because my solemnisation has been called off.

Though it was not a last minute decision and it has been many weeks after the incident, I am still rather affected when I thought about it.

I can't help but feel that I begin to dislike him.

Women women... ...

The poor country pastor was livid when he confronted his wife with the receipt for a $250 dress she had bought.

"How could you do this!" he exclaimed

"I don't know," she wailed, "I was standing in the store looking at the dress. Then I found myself trying it on. It was like the Devil was whispering to me, "Gee, you look great in that dress. You should buy it."

"Well," the pastor persisted, "You know how to deal with him! Just tell him, 'Get behind me, Satan!'"

"I did," replied his wife, "but then he said 'It looks great from back here too!'"

Joke of the day: Damn Good Story

Towards the end of the service, the Minister asked, "How many of you here forgiven your enemies?

80% of the congregation held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question. All responded this time, except a small elderly lady.

Minister: Mdm Tan? Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?

"I don't have to," she replied with a smile.

Minister: that is very unusual. How old are you?

Mdm Tan: 98

Minister: Oh, Mdm Tan, would you pse come forward to share with us how a person can live 98 years and not have an enemy in the world?

Mdm Tan tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation and said "I outlived the bitches."

Counting down

Evil Care Bear, who is already in her late 20s, turns 28 tomorrow! She starts counting down since this morning... ... :)

I remembered that when I was a 18-year old gal, I find 28-year old damn old and I don't know how my life will be like at then.

Now that I am almost 28, I don't feel old at all and I am actually looking forward to my b'days in the coming year! I wouldn't mind having many candles on my b'day cake because I am NOT SHAME of my age, be it late 20s or 30s! Hmm... ... I will probably start to feel paisei of my age when I turn into my 40s bah (or I probably wun) :p

What's up with birthdays? Some people will not miss celebrating their b'days while some people just hope that nobody remembers. I like b'days, not just mine but others as well. I like the idea of eating cakes (especially chocolate fav or even durian fresh cake), singing b'day songs, having everybody together, having fun and, most importantly, the big smile on the b'day boy or gal.

I like happy and joyous occasions and I make an effort to attend it (unless I dun like U!). In my opinion, these celebrations gives people reasons to get together to enjoy and have fun! However, I will also accept invites for net-working sake! *hehe*

Anyway... ... I like groups! I like friends! I dislike boredom! I dislike being alone!

Oh... and some people uses b'days as an excuse to buy pressies for themselves and I think I am one of them!!! *hehehe*

Probably because I have not been working for a month, I feel so relaxed and I have been shopping and buying stuff (not just for myself!) for Mavis & Mummy as well! *Hehehe*

I saw a very pretty sweater on Tuesday when I was shopping around at Vivo! A few boutiques were selling these sweaters at different price range (i.e. between $49.90 - $45.90) but of same design and material! I like such long long sweater bery much but I find the price too costly (because I believed that it should not be sooooo expensive). Therefore, I went around hoping to find one at the lowest price range. I managed to find one from ELLA selling at $39.00 *very tempted to buy* but still insist to look for a cheaper one (furthermore, the black color one has been sold out). Eventually, I REALLY FOUND ONE with the same material and design at $25.90 (in Chong Pang)!!! *HAHAHA* I bought it without 2nd thoughts but I am not satisfied because it is not black in color.

Therefore, I still wanna hunt for a black one but selling at a cheap price! *HEHEHE* Ella called me to inform that the new stocks have arrived and a black one is available. I went down to take a look and after many thoughts (not just 2nd thots)... ... *hehe* I decided to buy it! Same material but different designs @ $39! So happy!!!

Conclusion: I got 2 very pretty sweaters to wear to work, "kai kai" and party!!! *heehee* And these are my dream wear! Since young, I like such design of sweaters/jackets but the weather in Singapore doesn't allow me to wear them!!! *Hippie!*

What others say... ...

Woah... I have been home for a month and I have been enjoying myself everyday. I don't (really) miss my job, the people, my desk, etc. *it is a signal of disliking the job or the people or the environment*

Since day 1 when I was discharged and given 3 weeks to rest at home, Mavis asked me "huh? You not going to work for so long? Then we don't have money liao lor? How?" *haha* I like the questions she has pointed out to me! I didn't say much, just told her "Ya. so we cannot anyhow spend, okay?"

After the first week, i started to go to my neighbourhood area. After noticing that I have not been going to work, I bet that the KPO uncles sitting at the void deck must be saying "She not working anymore? Everyday also no need to go work!" (Note: They must also have speculated that I have been retrenched!) *hehehe*

The hawkers whom I don't talk to but knows who I am and have been seeing me around for the entire month must be saying "she not working already ar?"

Sometime last week, my brother asked me "Sis, are you still working?"
I replied "No!"
My bro "huh? You are not working there anymore?"
I replied "No!"
My bro "then where are you going to work?"
I replied "Not working!" *with a hidden grin*
my bro "Oh... ..."

Wahahaha... ...

14 Nov 08

I went for a review yesterday and my gynae found another small cyst and cut away for me in my awake condition *Scary* I could hear the sound made by the scissors. Anyway, I was supposed to start work today but my gynae has extended my hospitalisation leave.

Unlike previous times, I didn't spend a long time @ the hospital and it appears that there were fewer patients ytd. Anyway, good for me that I didn't have to wait for long.

Took the shuttle service to Novena MRT station and while we were in the bus, an indian lady, got up from her seat and before she alighted from the bus at the doorway, commented that we, China People, are uneducated and selfish. She probably said that because she has secured a seat for herself but had to give it up and alight to wait for the next bus as her daughter couldn't secure one for herself. This raised many commotions in the bus. Many aunties were talking to one another (though they didn't know each other) saying "we are from China meh?" while some said "we looked like we are from China meh?". *LOL* One of the aunty told that indian lady "yea yea.. China people not educated, you are educated. Singapore got you this kinda people, good ar!" Feeling very satisfied, the indian lady agreed and alighted from the bus. *Joke of the day for me*

Exam starts immediately after when my hospitalisation leave end! Should be considered as a good thing because I have many days to prepare for it. I flunk one subject in my last module :( got to re-take it this semester, which means I have got 3 subjects to sit for! *Oops* I have yet to start my revision (^_^) I am collecting the exam notes from my friend this weekend and will make an effort to start revision on Monday! Meanwhile, I am not slacking too -- I am starting to compile some data for submission to my boss this 2 days :( Nevertheless, that is not the boring part because besides the daily shitting, sleeping and meal times, I spent the rest of my time on gaming and surfing the net with Mavis (besides teaching her to do some revision :p)! We are so obsessed with SIMs 2 again and have been playing for days! And guess what time I sleep??

Oh I wanna share this... ...
I've always found Evan Yo (蔡旻佑) very familiar then one day, I realised that he and Rafael looked damn alike! Their smiles are so charming! Oliver likes to sing one of Evan's song and whenever Oliver sing his song, I would tell him, he looked like a friend of mine and Oliver would say "me lo!" *haha*

See! Look alike yah? Either same age or a year difference.
Evan Yo (蔡旻佑) vs Rafael Lam

Had dinner with my friends @ Swensen a few days ago. Cas bought a b'day cake each for JS & I but Swensen gave an excuse that Angie's Choice is not a halal cake (I think it is only acceptable if they be trueful and said that they cannot allowed us to have the cake there because they sell cakes too!). However, we can only blow the candles there :p

Anyway, we dun "har-doubt" to cut the cake there as well -- not as if they have got nice ambience *Split saliva*

We make a reservation @ Xin Wang Cafe and proceeded there to cut our cake after we are done with our dinner. Personally, I feel that it's so fun and excited having to celebrate your b'day on the same day with another person who also shares the same b'date as you do! Not easy to find wor!

Our friends

"Oh Dear Jason... ..."

-----Heard about this from a friend----

Coming into the bar and ordering a double, Jason leaned over and confided to the bartender, "I'm so pissed off!"

"Oh yeah? What happened?" asked the bartender politely.

"See, I met this beautiful woman who invited me back to her home. We stripped off our clothes and jumped into bed and we were just about to make love when her damned husband came back. So I had to jump out of the bedroom window and hang from the ledge by my fingernails!"

"Gee, that's tough," commiserated the bartender.

"Right, but that's not what really got me," Jason went on, "When her husband came into the room, he said "Hey great! You're naked already! Let me take a peak." And damned the lazy son of a bitch piss out of the window and right onto my head!"

"Yeech!" the bartender shook his head. "No wonder you are in a lousy mood."

"Yeah, but I haven't told you what really, really got to me. Next, I had to listen to them grunting and groaning and when they finished, the husband tossed his condom out of the window. And where does it land? My damned forehead!"

"Damn, that's awful!" says the bartender.

"Oh, I'm not finished. See what really pissed me off was when the husband had to take a dump. It turns out that their toilet is broken so he stuck his ass out of the window and let loose right on my head!"

The bartender paled. "That would sure mess up my day."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Jason rattled on, "but do you know what REALLY REALLY REALLY pissed me off? When I looked down and saaw that my feet were only SIX inches off the ground."

My Neighbour -- 24 Oct 08

My neighbour, a very KPO old aunty, saw me at the carpark alighting from Johnson's car when I came home from the hospital. Seeing Johnson carrying a big bag for me and carrying hampers, she went to tell the other KPO aunties that I had just delivered and came back from the hospital (-.-")

How did I know???

One of e KPOs, who is also staying at my block, saw my mom at e market the next day after I came home and asked my mom "Oh Aunty, your daughter just delivered and came back from e hospital ytd ar?" (Note: My mom has never spoke a word to her before) My mom gave her one kind of look and walked off. *haha*

That silly aunty damn funny! Saw me walked very slowly and came home with many hampers so she assumed that I was back from the hospital and had delivered a child but strange... why it didn't strike her that my new born baby is not with me and how come my stomach has always been only 3 months big?! Duh!!

It's all about me agn

Thanks to Johnson, I was down with flu and cough over the past few days. From running nose to blocked nose after taking his medication.

I've stayed home for about 2 weeks. Johnson rented a few comedy movies and the whole episode of Moonlight Resonance (溏心風暴之家好月圓) for me. He also bought a PSP (I am going to share the cost with him :p) for all of us to play. Therefore, I wasn't really bored but of course I still missed the Care Bear group and yearning to go out with them :) (but i wondered if my company is missed :p)

Since my surgery, my mom has been cooking for me everyday. It's either fish, pork or kidney soup. I'll either have mee suan or steamed rice. Oh and sometimes tonic soup for supper (as shown on e right). Breakfast is usually mee suan soup. Lunch and dinner will be either mee suan soup or steamed rice with either steamed fish (or sometimes pan fried), steamed pork ribs or stir fry pork or kidney soup and sometimes vegetables too.

While staying at home, I also gotten a pleasant surprise wor. Sometime last week, I received a call from Orchid Florist to ask if I am home because they have got a delivery to make to me. When I asked them who was it from, they told me Karen.

When it was delivered, then I found out that it was from Kareen and JS. Thank you! (Hey Kareen, you wanna see the flowers.. here it is.)

My mom's god-daughter also bought me a basket of chicken essences. :) Now my house got lotsa fish essences and chicken essences. Lelong Lelong... sell to you cheap cheap (hehe) Just joking. Really appreciate all yr concern.

Oh... before I forget, I wanna note that we celebrated Xiao Si's b'day in August and of course we took some pictures. We had dinner @ Kuishin-Bo (see appended picture) and the missing person in this photo is our dear friend Oliver.

After dinner, we went Carrefour to buy some alcoholic drinks and XXX then we head off to Kenny and Xiao si's hotel room to have a drink. We also had a chance to sink ourselves into the jacuzzi in the garden which comes together with the hotel room (just like how I played the Sims were) and sipping our bottles of drinks. I feel as if I were one of the character in Sims!

We managed to capture a picture of our sexy bear, Vincent!

My Hongkong Diary [Aug 08]

*This was drafted on my Sony Ericsson M600I since the 1st day we set off to HK*

Day 1
We happily board our plane at the Singapore Airport and reach Hongkong safely. We alighted from the plane and took a mini bus, which looks like an MRT, and transferred to the Airport arrival hall. We collected our baggage, queue up to purchase the Octupus Card and took MTR to Kowloon station. From there, we took a cab to Dorsett hotel @ 大角咀 near Mongkok (旺角).

After checking into the hotel, we went makan @ a tea house cafe (茶餐厅) in 通菜街 @ Mongkok. Their egg noodles is really deliciously cooked and is of better standard than in Singapore. After dinner, we went jalan jalan @ 女人街.

Day 2
We had Dim Sum @ a tea house in Mongkok and spent about SGD$20+ for 9 dishes. After breakfast, we took MTR to Jin Zhong (金钟) followed by bus 629 to Ocean Park (海洋公园). We spent the whole day there and covered the whole park. We played so hard that we didn't even know that we were hungry and I almost vomited.

After we left the park and went back to Jin Zhong, we took the City Bus 15 to The Peak (山頂). We went to the top of the Gallery and looked over the beautiful night scenery of Hong Kong.
Thereafter, we proceeded for fine dining at Zen Chinese Cuisine. We had Roast Goose, Shark Fin Soup, Pork Ribs and Prawns with Walnuts and a glass of White Wine to go along with the nice dinner. After dinner, we went to Mdm Tussard and took lotsa funny pictures :p

We queued up and took a tram back to Central (中環). We took MTR back to 旺角 and took a cab back to the hotel. Good thing that typhoon hasn't arrive when we depart from the Peak, otherwise, we would have be stucked up there.

Day 3
Typhoon striked Hong Kong. The last time it happened was in 2003. How lucky it is for us to experience it! Majority of the people are not working and we were even advised to stay indoor.

Nevertheless, we went to Langham Place in Mongkok and watched a movie (Cyborg She). By 3pm, the typhoon signal went up to 8. We decided to return to the hotel and watched TV and fell asleep till 9pm. Before that, we had lunch at the hotel cafeteria. We decided to go out and check on the weather and gosh... the typhoon signal went up to 9 (Hurricane strikes when it reaches 10).

Left with no choice, we went to the street across our hotel for dinner. The place sucks! They served dirty and cold food with no service standard at all! The lousiest cafe I went in Hong Kong during my stay there. After dinner, we went to the 7-11 to buy some snacks, cup noodles and magazines. When we came out from the store, there were strong wind blowing and metal sheets were flying around.

For the whole day, most of the people in HK, including us, were constantly checking out the TV broadcast on the status of the typhoon. We felt anxiety and at the same time anticipating the typhoon. Instead of watching the news in Singapore about the typhoon in HK, we were actually there experiencing the typhoon itself. It was unnerving and yet so real. I could see people rushing from one place to another to take cover from the typhoon, metal sheets flying around dangerously and umbrellas being busted by the strong gust of wind. Everything seems to stop operating, including public buses, taxis, shopping malls, eateries house and restaurants.

Day 4
We woke up early in the morning and watched the TV for updates on the typhoon. HURRAY!!!! It's finally over. I was very happy. We quickly washed up and set off for shopping at Causeway Bay (銅鑼灣) -- hoping to meet the HK Stars there but failed :(

Causeway Bay is a place where you can find all the branded stuff - you named it, they have it. We tried to look for an authentic Dim Sum Restaurant over there but failed! In the end, we settled for Crab Porridge (水蟹粥).

After that, we went Tsim Sa Tsui (尖沙咀) to shop and had Japanese Food for lunch. They served exotic japanese food such as Geese Liver, Crab Roe, Prawn sashimi, etc. We also went Avenue of Stars (星光大道) and captured all the handprints of the celebrities we know like ANDY LAU!!! *hehehe*

Later in the evening, we meet up with Johnson's friends from Hong Kong. They brought us dinner @ a Thai-India Restaurant in Tsim Sa Tsui. After dinner, the friends brought us to Harbour City (中港城) to buy tickets to Macau. Thereafter, Johnson bought them drinks @ Hard Rock.
Day 5
We woke up very early and set off to Macau. Upon reaching Macau, we set off to the biggest casino to win $$. We also had our lunch at the foodcourt. I had spaghetti. We also took a cab to Macau Central. I noticed that despite the traffic lights were working, there are traffic police directing the traffic *Strange*

Unlike Hong Kong, they have designated areas for taxis to pick up passengers and it seems that everyone adheres to it strictly. Motorcyles seems like a common mode of transport as majority of the people there used it as a mode of transport. We bought Portugese Egg Tarts, had McDonald and tried the famous pork chop bun ! It's a must try dish in Macau. We also visited the Guan Di Temple and I chatted with the people from the temple. They thought that we were from Malaysia :)

After taking a walk around the town, we took a cab back to the harbour and took a ferry back to Koonlow harbour. After that, we took MTR back to Mongkok and went to 女人街 to do some shopping. Johnson, like a woman, did all the bargaining for me. :D We spent many hours there and bought pressies for everyone.

With all the stuff, we walked back to the hotel to put our stuff before proceeding for dinner at the nearby famous hotpot restaurant, 良记 for their 猪骨鍋. We also ordered bottles of beer to go along with the hotpot. *Yummy*

Day 6
We woke up around 10 plus and check out. Went yum cha agn at a shopping mall near our hotel. I observed that many people in HK doesn't seems to be working. I have went for breakfast twice on a weekday in HK and the restaurants are always packed with people of all ages! *Puzzle*

After breakfast, we took MTR to Wang Tai Sin (黃大仙). I asked for a qian about work and went to jie qian. Very accurate wor!

Thereafter, we took MTR to Jordan station and walked to Temple Streeet (庙街) and made our way to 天后 temple. Temple Street is kinda sleazy. Got many mahjong entertainment centre and AV shops.

We had desserts at a famous dessert shop before heading back to the hotel to collect our baggage. After collecting our baggage, we took the hotel shuttle bus to Kowloon Airport Express Station and head towards the HK Intl airport.

After checking in at the airport counter, we went to shop for mooncakes at Wing Wah (榮華). We bought the Snoppy Snow Skin mooncakes and traditional mooncakes as well as the 老婆饼.
Home Sweet Home... ... days resumed back to normal after that.
