Christmas is around the corner... ...

Christmas is around the corner and what have you planned for that day? Are you going to just stay home and rot away OR have you already decide where to party? :)

I have not really sit down and plan for anything yet but I guess I will probably spend the Eve with my family. Perhaps, we could have a nice dinner and drink some wine together. We could have a Chocolate Log Cake as well. Thereafter, we could play mahjong till late night. Does that sound a little boring? *hehe*

Have you been to Orchard Road lately? I was around Somerset over the weekends. Not sure if you have noticed the “Four-Seasons Trees” @ the Traffic Junction, near Heeren Bldg. I like the deco best :) Perhaps I will be making another trip down to Orchard and take pictures of those decors.

Did you plan for a holiday this Christmas Season? I have actually planned to go Genting but Jon cannot make it. He has just started working and it is not nice to take leave for holiday so soon – which I can understand. Therefore, we have planned for a retreat instead! *Hurray* We are going for a retreat.

What comes into your mind when you think of Christmas? I don’t know how to describe my thoughts on Christmas but I definitely prefer Christmas to CNY. To me, CNY is just a few days where I could rest and recuperate @ home.

During Christmas, we would often buy little presents for our love ones. When I was in PAFF, I enjoyed shopping for pressies for my colleagues. We would always buy pressies for each other. The feeling of giving presents is so fun! I still remembered us playing the Santa & Mortal game over the last 2 years while I was in PAFF - Each of us would pick a Mortal (one of our colleagues) thru drawing lots and give surprises to him/her everyday w/o allowing the Mortal to know who was his/her santa. :) I miss those days. It was really fun.

This year, I have not buy any presents yet. I don’t have many presents to buy anyway. Most of my old colleagues have left. I am also thinking if I should buy any presents for my colleagues in my new office. I guess I may buy them some common items – e.g. HP Holder. Have you got a Wish-list? I haven't really do up one but I thought of putting it up on my here. One of the items in my Wish-list would be a Dictionary. A good (and thick thick) one! *hehe* If possible, I want a good pocket dictionary where I could carry it in my handbag, wherever I go :)

Since Christmas is coming, it would also mean that Year 2006 is going to bide Goodbye to us soon and we would have to welcome Year 2007 :) Have you completed all the tasks allocated to you this year? If you have not done so, you ought to hurry because deadline will be due soon *haha*

Updates on 09 Dec 06 - My Weekend.

09 December 2006 is a big day for my friend, Darren & his wife - Sandy!

There were only about 20 of us, including family members of both parties, to witness the ceremoney. Not all our friends were invited as well. Hence, I should be honoured to be invited to attend the ROM @ Halia Restaurant inside Singapore Botanical Garden. It was my first time attending such an occasion in Botanical Garden. Isn't it cool? Rachel & Johnson were invited as well. Oh, Rachel's bf was absent because he was, as usual, busy with his stuff!

The restaurant served nice pastries and tea. It was very filling as well. :)

We bought a wedding album for the couple. Actually, we wanted to buy a wedding diary from Precious Moments, which would be more meaningful. However, they only have the last dirty piece left @ every outlet we went, hence, we didn't buy it :(

We took a picture with the bride & groom, some pictures of the Solemnization ceremony, and of course, pictures of ourselves while the bride & groom were busy entertaining the guests. :)

After the event, we went on to take some nice pictures around the garden (don't waste the trip mah!). Thereafter, we went home to take a rest and were suppose to meet Casper & Rachel @ 9.30pm @ Xing Wang Hong Kong Restaurant for dinner, before proceeding to Mdm Wong for party.

However, Rachel didn't join us in the end :( She went to meet her boyfriend & friends for dinner. After that, they went for a drink in Bugis and she got drunk. *Sighz* So "shao xin"! This Casper came late as well - reached at about 10 plus. Johnson & I were so hungry by then...

Immediately after she came, we ordered:

* Fresh & Nutritious Crab Bee Hoon
[Not recommended! The crab is not fresh and it cannot be nutritious when everything is so salty. To think of it, they claimed that it is one of their famous… …]

* Fried Guo Tie

* Steamed Prawn Dumpling

* Steamed Pork Ribs

* Baked Chicken chop rice
[Nice! It's quite cheesy. Only -ve point was that tomatoes were added into it and Jon doesn’t take tomatoes!] *haha*

After dinner, we met up with Teresa and proceeded to Mdm Wong. Initially, we wanted to take a cab but it was so difficult to hail one @ that time. Hence, we walked from Cineleisure to Magazine Road! *so tired*

When we reached there @ about 1 plus, the place was already quite packed. All of us paid $12/person @ the entrance for the first drink - House Pour.

They have are 2 storeys. The 2nd level was packed with alot more pple. I could not even enter the room but could feel the heat & "stuffiness" when I was just standing outside, along the stairsway. In the end, we settled ourselves @ the ground level and stood there for almost an hour before we secured some seats! Lousy Place!!! The only good thing about that place was the Music. I don't think I will be going there in the near future.

My 26th B'day Updates

On 18 Nov 06, I celebrated my 26 years old b’day with my dearest Johnson & friends @ Fish & Co for dinner & went to Este Club. Exactly a year ago, I celebrated my 25th B’day with my dear Johnson & friends @ Shanghai Disco & KTV Club.

Time really flies. Another year has passed. This year, I had a pleasant b’day surprise organised by my friends & boyfriend. It was a wonderful & memorable 26th b’day.

*haha* I was treated like a Princess that night. *Hmm* Supposed to wear a pinky top, which I had specially bought for my b’day, but Jon said that it doesn’t suit my jeans! *Duh* In the end, I wore a black halter-neck top plus a pair of jeans.

According to my friends, they had planned this surprise many weeks ahead! Really thankful of what they have prepared for me. They also prepared a heart-shaped b’day cake from Angie’s Choice. I like their cakes. The sponge is very light and you will never get sick of the fresh cream on the cake. *Yummy*

After dinner @ Fish & Co, we proceeded to take the North-East Line @ Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station to Clarke Quay. Kareen recommended a new clubbing place to us – Este Club. It was also her 1st time there.

Similar to Shanghai, they have KTV rooms, a band consisting of 2 guys & a gal performing for 45 mins @ every interval of dunno 1 or 2 hours, and there’s a very narrow dance floor. The ambience was quite good when the crowd hasn’t arrived. Oh by the way, we were the first group of customers who arrived @ Este that day. Cool huh.

The crowd is Este were in their late 20s and above. For guys, they have to be above 25 years old while gals have to be able 23 years old before they are eligible to enter the club – If I didn’t remember wrongly.

The female toilet was rather unique. Overall, it was very dim. However, once you enter the cubicle and locked it up, the small bulb in the cubicle will light up and it’s no longer dim. In addition to the unique-ness, you have to step on a rubber thingy in order to on the tap in order to have the water running out from the tap. Many people were not aware of it :D

Hmm… I would give it a rating of “Okay” for that place. Not that I dislike the place but neither do I like it. I would say that it isn’t attractive enough to make me want to go back again.

In the early evening on 18 Nov 06:
I went for Little Vera’s, John’s niece, first b’day celebration. We went to a Chinese Restaurant, operated by Little Vera’s Uncle, in Chinatown for dinner. The relatives arrived about ½ hour late and hence, dinner was delayed. In the end, Johnson & I had to leave after the 2nd dish was served. *So sorry Little Vera*

haha* I told John that if Vera don’t greet me Happy B’day, I would not say to her as well BECAUSE I was Princess on that day! *so naughty* Maybe some years later, we might celebrate our b’day together. Wah… she would definitely snatched away all the attention from me then because I will be an old hag then.

On the day of my b’day:
I need not go to work on that special day because I was entitled to a B’day Off. I never had such thing as B’day Off when I was in my previous dept! *hehe*

Anyway, I bought Mummy & Little Mavis to makan – their favourite Porridge & Sashimi + fried intestines @ Toa Payoh. After breakfast, we went jalan jalan around Central. We went home in the afternoon and we had a long nap till 7 plus in the evening. That was when Johnson reached my place and we went for a simple dinner together.

Mummy said she would celebrate my b’day based on the Chinese date. I don’t mind. Hehe… I guess she would prepare mee suan + red egg for me. Oh + an Ang Bao as well. Last year, I had that too. :D

As for me, as usual I would buy a gift or two for myself as b'day gift. Neh.. These are what I bought lor.

My colleague bought me a big box of Ferrero Rochers for me. So nice of her. Yes, I likes chocolates but nobody ever realised that I dislike Rochers! :) *Oops*

It's only Tuesday!

Just as I thought weekend was approaching, I realised that I was dreaming *DUH!* OMG, it is just Tuesday and there are 3 more days ahead before weekend arrives again. :(

I feel so tired over the past few days. Probably because I didn't sleep well in the night. I had difficulty turning in even though I was tired. Dunno what went wrong.

Office has been very quiet (and I kept dozing off) because everyone was clearing their Annual Leave and many went for Holiday. I have only got 1 and a 1/2 days of leave left for this year. Thought of buying an additional 2 days of leave thru the system but still decided not to in the end - Too expensive already! *hehe* Hence, I am not going anywhere. However, I may go for a weekend retreat.

Payslip is out today. Everyone was so excited because it's BONUS month! *keke* Some experienced problem logging in to view the payslip because too many people are trying to log in as well. :) When CC knew that the payslip was out, she also informed her friends from other departments.

I guess, currently, in most of our minds are how to use those money. Some will probably save up but most will probably go for a holiday, buy stuff to boast the economy, etc. ME? As usual, I will give my mom a monthly sum of money for household expenses (but it would be more as it is BONUS month), I will also be sponsoring my mom for her m/sia trip. I must make an effort to save at least 1k :) Must also put also some money to buy a new queen-size bed for next year. Oh ya, need to prepare some money for CNY 07 as well. Wah.. everything is about money!!!

Birth of My Little Hide-Out

Heh... ...

At this very minute, my Little Hide-Out was born. After hesitating for 2 years, this little hide-out has come alive!

I shall start posting in this little home of mine from today onwards. *so exciting* I have so much to tell :) Oh, I have to make this clear. My writing skills is not powerful, therefore, please pardon me if you come across some broken english :)

Nope not now. I was stealing 10 mins of my busy time to start up this blog and now I got to bury myself into my work again. But I promise I will write again soon (real soon!!) :)

Your comments are definitely welcome if you would like to :)

Cheers,
